This Privacy Policy explains what information Juma App ("the App", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, how it is used and protected, and the choices you have. Juma App is a community application for masjids (mosques) in Kerala, India: it provides prayer times, azan notifications, community messaging, announcements, a mutual aid fund register, an emergency SOS feature, and an optional tele-consultation feature called "Dr Live". By using the App you agree to this policy.
| Data | When it is collected | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number | At registration | To create and secure your account, and, together with a one-time code, to sign you in. See "How you sign in" below - this differs between Normal Members and Admins. |
| Name | At registration | Shown to your masjid's admin and community so they know who you are. |
| Profile photo (optional) | If you choose to upload one | Shown next to your messages in community chat. |
| Messages, posts, photos, videos, audio and files | When you send them in chat, feed, or announcements | To deliver them to the members of your masjid community. |
| Health information (optional, Dr Live only) | Only if you choose to use Dr Live and fill in your medical profile (age, blood group, allergies, chronic conditions, current medicines) or attach medical documents/prescriptions | Your medical profile and any documents you attach are shared only with the doctor you consult, so the doctor can advise you better. If you separately use Dr Live's optional translation feature, the text of your consultation messages may also be sent to Google Gemini for translation only, with your consent - see Sections 5 and 6. You control what you enter and attach. This feature is entirely optional. |
Normal Members currently register using a mobile number and a one-time code sent by SMS. If you choose to verify an email address inside the App, you may afterwards sign in by entering your mobile number - used only to find your account - followed by a one-time code sent to that verified email address instead of by SMS. That email is delivered by Amazon SES (Amazon Web Services). Admins and platform administrators are not affected by this and continue to register and sign in using a mobile number and a one-time SMS code.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Approximate / precise location (only when you allow it) | To calculate accurate prayer (azan) times for your masjid's location and to point the Qibla compass. Location is used on your device and, for masjid admins, the masjid's chosen coordinates are stored to compute that masjid's prayer times. Precise location is also used, only when you trigger it, for the SOS/emergency-help feature - see Section 8. Other than that, the App does not track your movements in the background. |
| Crash and diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics) | To detect and fix crashes. Includes device model, OS version, and the technical error details. Not used for advertising. |
| Feature-usage counts | Anonymous daily counters of which features are used, so we can improve the App. Not linked to advertising. |
| Push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | So the App can deliver azan alerts, announcements and messages to your device. |
We use your information only to operate the App: to sign you in, show you your masjid's content, deliver messages and notifications, compute prayer times, connect you with a doctor when you start a Dr Live consultation, keep the mutual aid register your masjid admin maintains, respond to an SOS you trigger, and fix technical problems. Some features use a third-party AI service to generate the response you asked for, as explained in Section 5. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not show third-party ads.
The App is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics). Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers (asia-south1, Mumbai, India where configured). Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase privacy terms. Some features send limited information to Google Gemini, a Google AI service, only when you use or consent to that specific feature - see Section 5. The one-time sign-in code email described above is delivered by Amazon SES (Amazon Web Services). Prayer-time calculations may use the Aladhan public API (only coordinates are sent, never your identity). Payment for masjid activation (paid by masjid admins, not ordinary members) is arranged outside the App via a payment link; no payment card details are collected inside the App.
Some features in Juma App use Google Gemini, a third-party AI service, to generate the AI output you requested. Before using CV Generator, Advisor consultation translation, Dr Live consultation translation, What's New, Goal Tips, or Help → Ask AI, the App asks for your explicit, feature-specific consent; declining means your information for that feature is not sent.
For What's New and Goal Tips, this recurring processing continues only while the feature stays active and your consent for it remains in effect - you can revoke consent at any time from that feature's own menu, which also pauses further processing. For the other features, consent is asked each time it is needed unless you have already agreed. Google processes this information only to generate the response you requested; it is not used by us for advertising.
Dr Live is an optional communication tool, not a medical service by us. It connects you with independent doctors for informational tele-consultation. It is not for emergencies - in an emergency call 108 or go to the nearest hospital. Advice, prescriptions and documents exchanged are between you and the doctor; INDIMUS INNOVATIVES LLP does not provide medical advice and is not responsible for it. Health data you enter is encrypted in transit, stored securely, shared only with the doctor you consult, and never used for advertising or sold. If you use Dr Live's optional translation feature, the text of your messages is sent to Google Gemini only with your consent, for translation only - Gemini does not provide medical advice, and all medical advice comes only from the doctor you consult. You may delete your medical profile and uploaded documents at any time from within the App, or by contacting us.
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access is restricted by Firebase Security Rules so that, for example, members of one masjid cannot read another masjid's private data, and medical files are readable only by the patient and the consulted doctor. No system is 100% secure, but we follow industry-standard practices.
Juma App's SOS/Emergency Help feature is a community and volunteer assistance feature - it is not an official government emergency dispatch service and is not a replacement for Police, Ambulance, or other official emergency responders. For an official or life-threatening emergency, always contact the appropriate emergency service directly: Police 100, Ambulance 108, or National Emergency Number 112, as applicable.
When you actively trigger SOS and send an emergency alert/message, your precise location at that moment, your name, your phone number, and the alert/message information you send (including any photo, voice, or video you choose to attach) are shared with up to 7 available community volunteers within 5 km of your location, and with your own masjid/Jama'ath admin, so they can respond to you. This information is shared only after you actively trigger SOS and send that alert/message - simply opening the Emergency Help screen does not share your location or any other information. Other than when you use this feature, the App does not otherwise track or share your precise location for this purpose. Volunteers who choose to be found this way separately share their own location so that members needing help can be matched with someone nearby.
Your data is kept while your account is active. Community content you posted may remain visible to the community until deleted by you or an admin. Crash data is retained by Crashlytics for at most 90 days. When your account is deleted, your personal data is removed as described below.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time:
From the App: open the Home menu, go to ACCOUNT, and choose "Delete Account". This sends a deletion request to your masjid admin. Permanent deletion of your account and data happens only after the admin approves the request. You can cancel a pending request at any time before it is approved.
By email: if you cannot use the in-app option above, you may also write to indimusinnovativesllp@gmail.com, mentioning your registered phone number, with the subject "Delete my account". Requests made this way are handled manually and may take longer than the in-app option.
We will verify the request and delete your account (phone number, name, photo), your medical profile and uploaded medical documents, and unlink your identity from community content. Some records may be retained where the law requires (e.g. payment/GST records of masjid activation fees).
The App is intended for general community use. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Community membership is approved by the masjid admin. If you believe a child's data has been collected, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this address, with the effective date shown at the top. When a change is substantive - such as this update, which added the AI-processing, sign-in, and SOS disclosures above - we also show a "Last updated" date and summarize what changed. Significant changes will be announced inside the App.
